recently I started to get more into the idea of self hosting, and realized there are a handful of things which are relatively easy to do that for, at home with an older laptop running Debian 12

• a Gitea or Forgejo instance
  • code
  • project management
• rocketchat instance for easy family messaging?
• what else?

current plan

• my old macbook pro 2015
• debian 12
• ssh
• crontab + email notif?
  • haha lora direct to my t-watch
• nextcloud for files/cal/etc
• forgejo for git

apps

• 1password or keepass (over wire guard to smb storage at home?)
• vlc, mynoise, librefm for listening to stuff
• kagi, orion
• guardian, marsactu

todo

• maps?
• whatsapp?
